Size Guide

SHOES

All shoes come in standard US sizes and fit true to size unless other wise stated. All shoes come in standard (D) widths unless other wise stated.

SUITS

Suit sizes are all based around chest measurements and length. So a 40R would be a 40" chest in a regular length. The usual rule of thumb for length is 5'8 or shorter should order a short when available. 5'9 - 6'0 should order a regular, and 6'1 and above should order a long. If you don't know your chest size, the easiest way to find out is to measure around your nipple line under your arms with your arms down. That will give you your chest measurement.

Pants that come with the suits come 6 inches smaller than the jacket sizes and can adjust 2 inches out or 4 inches in. So if you were ordering a 40R for example it would come with 40-6 = 34" pants that can adjust out to a 36" or in to a 30". All pants come unfinished in length, so they will need to be hemmed to your exact length by a tailor or dry cleaner once you receive them.

DRESS PANTS

All dress pants come with extra material built into the waistband so they can be adjusted out 2 inches or in 4 inches once you receive them. All pants come unfinished in length, so they will need to be hemmed to your exact length by a tailor or dry cleaner once you receive them.

How to choose the standard size suits?

NOTE:

  • You should choose same size as your measurement, and we will add 2 inches only for the finished jacket & waistcoat to make it comfortable. For example, you should ORDER 38 for the jacket and waistcoat if your chest measurement is 38 inch, then the finished jacket & waistcoat is 40inch in chest.
  • If your belly measurement is dramatically smaller than your chest OR bigger than you chest, then we  recommend opting for our custom measurements service for the perfect fit.
  • Please ensure that all measurements taken are body tight and that you do not include extra room for "extra fit", it will skew the numbers and our recommendation.
  • We are always on hand to help via email at support@bdtailormade.com  if you're unsure about what size to order.
